Taking a reference from one of the greatest Hip-Hop songs of all time, C.R.E.A.M by The Wu-Tang Clan, “Cash rules everything around me cream get the money, dolla dolla bills yall.”C.R.E.A.M. is your weekly fix of hip hop culture, showing the pillars of hip hop reflect more than just the music, it’s the collaborative effort or music, art, film, street, fashion and urban culture.
No doubt that many hip-hop fans are embroiled in the whole East Coast vs. West Coast debate when it comes to who produced the best emcees. While the East Coast has Nas, Mobb Deep and Jeru The Damaja, the West Coast has an equally impressive arsenal consisting of N.W.A., Cypress Hill and Brotha Lynch Hung.
Now a new track by Sydney duo Wordlife explores a union between these two scenes with a track featuring their two most respected representatives – Biggie Smalls and Tupac.
Having only been on the scene for two years, Wordlife have already made a steady impact – having recently been signed to Modular alongside staple Australian favourites like Beni, Bag Raiders and Van She. Titled ‘What If’, the track takes some of Biggie and Tupac’s most popular refrains and lines over a bed of undeniable groove and dancefloor-ready beats.
